Press Release
PROM SEASON OFF TO A FIZZ, DESPITE THE CREDIT CRUNCH
May 2009
With summer almost upon us it can mean only one thing – proms, weddings, race days and parties – and everyone knows that the key necessity for these glamorous events is the perfect outfit, whether it’s a LBD (Little Black Dress!) or a trailing red number. While many are cutting back on luxury spending in the current recession, Newlife is helping locals enjoy life with a huge range of prom dresses and gorgeous gowns to get you through the summer social scene.
In store from Thursday, Newlife will be dedicating a section of its Superstore specifically to brand new gorgeous gowns. Whether it’s something long or short, simple or detailed, tight or floaty, or even white through to black, there is something to suit all tastes.
Newlife Foundation CEO, Mrs. Sheila Brown OBE said: “Every year the Newlife Superstore staff are asked by parents and girls alike, for a range of prom dresses at reasonable cost. This year, as families face financial pressure we decided to do all we could to help local girls enjoy their special day. With thanks to our volunteers, we have put together a dedicated range of dresses so none will be disappointed, as prices start from just £9.75. It would be sad to think that the annual prom parties, which are a key part of treasured teenage memories, are being hit by the recession, so we are pleased to be helping. Of course there is also the ‘double wammy’ joy of knowing that profits from the sale of these dresses will go to help disabled children, so everyone wins”.
The prom wear and gown range will be released for sale this Thursday (14th May) at Newlife Superstore, with all proceeds going to the charity. Newlife Superstore is located at Hemlock Way, Cannock.
